Creating active and empowered young citizens, ready to change their world and positively influence the world around them.

Our History

Who we are

Urban Youth is a volunteer run charity that provides youth services in some of London's most deprived areas.
Founded in 2005, our story began in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets with a weekly youth project in Bromley by Bow. As the charity grew, we expanded into other London Boroughs including; Hackney, Greenwich and Lewisham partnering with the NHS, NSPCC and St Johns Ambulance.
At its core, Urban Youth develop and deliver interactive, challenging and engaging programmes for young people that encourage confidence building and provide the unique opportunity to develop new skills and experience in ways they may never have been typically exposured to.

Our Values

Urban Youth's Values are centred around delivering fun, engaging and informal learning that inspires the next generation of leaders and helps to challenge the negative stereotypes society holds about young people.

Our Volunteers

As an entirely volunteer run organisation, we could not do the work we do without the continued support and dedication of our fantastic team. All are incredibly passionate about youth services and making a difference to the lives of the young people they work with. Our team are committed to providing young people with the right opportunities to enable them to shape their own future.
We are passionate about what we do and make the safety and sustainability of our projects a high priority. All of our volunteers are DBS checked and must complete mandatory training on Safeguarding as part of their induction.
